Taxonomy
Nodospira ornata was named by Yochelson and Dutro (1960). It is not extant. Its type locality is USGS 14150. cutbank near head of Kiruktagiak River, which is in a Holkerian marine shale in the Alapah Formation of Alaska. It is the type species of Nodospira.
