Platyceras (Orthonychia) infabricatus was named by Hyde (1953) [Platyceras (Orthonychia) infabricatus Hyde 1953]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 2. C&O railroad cut, 3.2 K NW of Sciotoville, Harrison Township, which is in an Osagean marine sandstone/shale in the Logan Formation of Ohio.
It was recombined as Orthonychia infabricatus by Wagner (2023).
