Taxonomy
Platyceras disciforme was named by Lindström (1884). It is not extant. Its type locality is Hoburgen 2, Gotland, Hamra Beds, stromatoporoid-calcimicrobial reef, which is in a Ludfordian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Hamra Formation of Sweden.
