Pleurotomaria glandiformis was named by Lindström (1884). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Clathrospira glandiformis by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Oehlertia glandiformis by Wagner (1999); it was recombined as Quadricarina glandiformis by Wagner (2023).
