Pseudozygopleura (Pseudozygopleura) mucronatus was named by Hoare and Sturgeon (1981) [Pseudozygopleura (Pseudozygopleura) mucronatus Hoare & Sturgeon 1981b]. It is not extant.

It was recombined as Pseudozygopleura mucronatus by Wagner (2023).
