Pseudozygopleura (Pseudozygopleura) rectus was named by Hoare and Sturgeon (1981) [= Palaeostylus (Pseudozygopleura) n. sp. Hoare & Sturgeon 1978a p. 7 f. 17]. It is not extant.

It was recombined as Pseudozygopleura rectus by Wagner (2023).
