Ribeiria apusoides was named by Schubert and Waagen (1904) [Ribeiria apusoides Schubert & Waagen in Perner 1903.
Lectotype designated by Pojeta & Runnegar 1976.
Perner pl. 49, figs 14-17 = R. johni.]. Its type specimen is NM L 7860, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
