Taxonomy
Sallya bicincta was named by Yochelson (1956). Its type specimen is USNM 119167 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM712a, Elwood Siding, Orogrande, which is in an Artinskian shallow subtidal limestone in the Hueco Formation of New Mexico.
