Taxonomy
Subulites ellisensis was named by Twenhofel (1928). It is not extant. Its type locality is Low cliffs near the head of Ellis Bay, Zone 4, which is in a Gamachian carbonate limestone/shale in the Ellis Bay Formation of Canada.
