Loculitheca was named by Sysoyev (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: V N-Da-u Cm Tomm-u Sepkoski's reference number: 287,1030]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Circothecida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Turcuthecidae by Kruse (2002).
