Taxonomy
Worthenia aberrans was named by Perner (1903). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Ptychozone.

It was recombined as Pleurotomaria (Ptychozone) aberrans by Perner (1907); it was recombined as Ruedemannia aberrans by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
