Taxonomy
Allatheca was named by Rozanov et al. (1969) [Missarzhevsky in Rozanov et al. 1969; Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-l Cm Atda-u Sepkoski's reference number: 268,885,1006]. Its type is Allatheca corrugata. It is the type genus of Allathecidae.

It was assigned to Allathecidae by Rozanov et al. (1969); and to Orthothecida by Sepkoski (2002).
