Taxonomy
Majatheca was named by Rozanov et al. (1969) [Missarzhevsky in Rozanov et al. 1969; Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-u Cm Boto Sepkoski's reference number: 268,522]. Its type is Majatheca tumefacta.

It was assigned to Allathecidae by Rozanov et al. (1969); and to Orthothecida by Sepkoski (2002).
