Zygopleura (Cyclozyga) neotenica was named by Elias (1958) [Zygopleura (Cyclozyga) neotenica]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Village of Milo, which is in a Serpukhovian offshore sandstone in the Redoak Hollow Formation of Oklahoma.
It was recombined as Cyclozyga neotenica by Yochelson and Saunders (1967).
