Taxonomy
Maclurea emmonsi was named by Billings (1865) [Maclurea Emmonsi]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Maclurites emmonsi by Rohr (1980) and Rohr and Measures (2001); it was recombined as Teiichispira emmonsi by Wagner (2023).
