Taxonomy
Euphemus filosus was named by de Koninck (1883). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tournai, which is in a Hastarian carbonate limestone in the Maurenne Formation of Belgium.

It was recombined as Euphemites filosus by Amler and Heidelberger (2003).
