Taxonomy
Bellerophon globulus was named by Lindström (1884). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cymbularia globulus by Koken (1897) and Koken and Perner (1925); it was recombined as Prosoptychus globulus by Horný (1963), Kurushin (1986) and Wagner (2023).
