Taxonomy
Bellerophon koeneni was named by Clarke (1904). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Genundewa Point, loc. 23b, which is in a Frasnian marine limestone/shale in the Genundewa Formation of New York. It is the type species of Aglaoglypta.

It was recombined as Aglaoglypta koeneni by Knight (1942), Amler and Heidelberger (2003) and Wagner (2023).
