Bellerophon (Bucania) lingualis was named by Salter and Aveline (1854) [Bellerophon (Bucania) lingualis Salter in Salter & Aveline 1854]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Kokenospira lingualis by Reed (1921) and Wagner (2023).
