Bucaniella undata was named by Koken (1897). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Bucanella (Bucanella) undata by Rõõmusoks (1970); it was recombined as Tetranota undata by Teichert (1932), Ebbestad (1999) and Wagner (2023).
