Taxonomy
Buccinum imbricatum was named by Sowerby (1827). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Macrocheilus imbricatus by Römer (1843) and Etheridge (1888); it was recombined as Macrochilina imbricata by Whidborne (1891) and Kirchner (1915).
