Taxonomy
Callonema surgens was named by Perner (1903) [Callonema? surgens Barrande in Perner 1903]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lochkov, which is in a Pridoli carbonate limestone in the Pozáry Formation of the Czech Republic.

It was recombined as Elasmonema surgens by Wagner (2023).
