Taxonomy
Capulus invictus was named by Whidborne (1891) [Capulus? invictus Whidborne 1891]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barton Limestone, Torquay, Bay Reef Complex, which is in a Givetian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Torquay Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Platyostoma invictus by Wagner (2023).
