Agathammina was named by Neumayr (1887) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp P Dora]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Miliolidae by Cushman (1927); to Fischerinidae by Gall (1971); to Cornuspiridae by Loeblich and Tappan (1984); to Hemigordiopsinae by Loeblich and Tappan (1988); to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Hemigordiopsidae by Kobayashi (2012).
