Cyrtolites pannosus was named by Billings (1866). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Conradella pannosus by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Phragmolites pannosus by Twenhofel (1928), Ebbestad (1999) and Wagner (2023).
