Taxonomy
Cyclocyrtonella was named by Horný (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: S u]. It is not extant. Its type is Cyrtolites eremita.

It was assigned to Cyclocyrtonellinae by Horný (1963); to Cyclocyrtonellidae by Starobogatov (1970); to Cyrtolitidae by Runnegar and Jell (1976) and Frýda and Manda (1997); and to Cyrtonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
