Gyronema clausepeakensis was named by Kulas and Batten (1997) [?Gyronema clausepeakensis Kulas & Batten 1997]. It is not extant. Its type locality is AMNH B673, Peak 10233, Clause Peak, Lincoln County, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine lime mudstone/grainstone in the Park City Formation of Wyoming.
It was recombined as Cinclidonema clausepeakensis by Wagner (2023).
