Taxonomy
Helicites angulatus was named by Wahlenberg (1821). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Inachus angulatus by Hisinger (1837); it was recombined as Straparollus angulatus by d'Orbigny (1850); it was recombined as Oriostoma angulatum by Lindström (1884), Rohr and Blodgett (1985) and Wagner (2023).
