Taxonomy
Liospira mundula was named by Ulrich and Scofield (1897) [Liospira? mundula Ulrich in Ulrich & Scofield 1897]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ulrich & Scofield Danville (Lower Beds), which is in a Shermanian carbonate limestone/shale in the Lexington Formation of Kentucky. It is the type species of Paraliospira.
It was recombined as Paraliospira mundula by Rohr (1980), Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
