Taxonomy
Loxonema missouriensis was named by Williams (1943). It is not extant. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 623, which is in a Famennian shallow subtidal lime mudstone/mudstone in the Louisiana Limestone Formation of Missouri.
It was recombined as Palaeozygopleura missouriensis by Rollins (1975) and Wagner (2023).
