Ptychocaulus bivittata

Taxonomy
Murchisonia bivittata was named by Hall (1852). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Eurypterid-associated biota of the dolomite of the Lockport Fmn. at Elora, Ont., which is in a Ludlow open shallow subtidal dolomite in the Guelph Formation of Canada.

It was recombined as Coelocaeulus bivittata by Ulrich and Scofield (1897) and Whiteaves (1906); it was recombined as Coelidium bivittata by Parks (1915); it was recombined as Ptychocaulus bivittata by Wagner (2023).
