Taxonomy
Murchisonia cancellatula was named by Sedgwick and M'Coy (1855) [Murchisonia cancellatula M'Coy in Sedgwick & M'Coy 1855]. It is not extant. It is the type species of Arjamannia.

It was recombined as Lophospira cancellatula by Ulrich and Scofield (1897) and Longstaff (1924); it was recombined as Arjamannia cancellatula by Peel (1975), Peel (1977), Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
