Euconospira elegantula
Taxonomy
Murchisonia elegantula was named by Hall (1856). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Hunter Valley Quarries, 3 miles northwest of Bloomington, which is in a Meramecian carbonate limestone in the Salem Formation of Indiana.
It was recombined as Pleurotomaria elegantula by Holzapfel (1882) and Hall (1883); it was recombined as Bembexia elegantula by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Euconospira elegantula by Wagner (2023).
