Taxonomy
Emarginoconus was named by Yü (1979) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-l Cm Atda-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1006,1030]. It is not extant. Its type is Emarginoconus mirus.

It was assigned to Helcionellidae by Parkhaev (2002); to Mollusca by Sepkoski (2002); and to Helcionellinae by Parkhaev and Demidenko (2010).

Apex hooked and displaced posteriorly, almost reaching posterior apertural margin. Aperture circular, with shallow sinus below apex. Shell ornamentation represented by distinct concentric growth lines."
