It was recombined as Naticopsis ventricosus by Meek and Worthen (1873) and Knight (1933); it was recombined as Naticopsis ventricosa by Morningstar (1922); it was recombined as Naticopsis (Jedria) ventricosa by Hoare (1961); it was recombined as Jedria ventrica by Sturgeon (1964), Kues and Batten (2001) and Wagner (2023).
