Taxonomy
Omospira adventa was named by Butts (1926). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Seaboard Air Line Railway 0.5 miles west of Odenville, which is in a Chazyan offshore ramp carbonate in the Lenoir Formation of Tennessee.
It was recombined as Ectomaria adventa by Wagner (2023).
