Taxonomy
Metoptoma quebecensis was named by Billings (1865). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Palaeacmaea quebecensis by Whiteaves (1884), Whiteaves (1884), Ulrich and Scofield (1897) and Twenhofel (1928); it was recombined as Floripatella quebecensis by Wagner (2023).
