Taxonomy
Platyceras minutissimum was named by Walcott (1879). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Pelagiella minutissimum by Walcott (1912); it was recombined as Strepsodiscus minutissimus by Runnegar (1981), Pinilla et al. (2008) and Wagner (2023).
