Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria carnica was named by Frech (1894). It is not extant. Its type locality is Black Gastropod Chalk, Wolayer Thörl, Carnic Alps, which is in a Pragian carbonate limestone in the Schwarz Gastropoden-Kalk Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Euryzone carnica by Spitz (1907); it was recombined as Barocospira carnica by Wagner (2023).
