Pleurotomaria crenatostriata was named by Sandberger and Sandberger (1855). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Angyomphalus crenatostriata by Amler and Heidelberger (2003); it was recombined as Bembexia crenatostriata by Wagner (2023).
