Umbotropis filitexta
Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria filitexta was named by Foerste (1893) [not Pleurotomaria filitexta Hall 1876]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huffman Quarry ¾ miles southeast of the Insane Asylum, southeastern Dayton, which is in an Alexandrian carbonate limestone in the Brassfield Formation of Ohio.
It was recombined as Cryptaulus filitexta by Foerste (1923); it was recombined as Foersteria filitexta by Tomlin (1929); it was recombined as Umbotropis filitexta by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
