Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria jugosum was named by Huxley and Etheridge (1865) [Pleurotomaria jugosum Salter in Huxley & Etheridge 1865]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Snead Lane, Snead, which is in an Aeronian carbonate shale in the Pentamerus Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Pseudoscalites jugosum by Peel (1984); it was recombined as Phanerotrema jugosum by Pitcher (1939), Peel (1977), Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
