Baylea subconstricta
Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria subconstricta was named by Meek and Worthen (1860). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hodges Creek, which is in a Desmoinesian carbonate limestone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.
It was recombined as Yvania subconstricta by Plummer and Hornberger (1935); it was recombined as Baylea subconstricta by Kues and Batten (2001) and Wagner (2023).
