Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria tenuimarginata was named by Miller (1877) [Hall in Miller 1877]. It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Eotrochus.

It was recombined as Eotrochus tenuimarginatus by Whitfield (1882), Knight (1941), Kulas and Batten (1997), Karapunar and Nützel (2022) and Wagner (2023).
