Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria townsendii was named by Whiteaves (1895). It is not extant. Its type locality is Durham, Billings Localities, which is in a Gorstian carbonate limestone/dolomite in the Guelph Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Leptorima townsendii by Wagner (2023).
