Schizopea washburnei
Taxonomy
Schizopea washburnei was named by Butts (1926) [Schizopea washburnei Ulrich in Butts 1926. Given as Schizopea washburnensis in original figure, but corrected in an erratum in the front of the volume. ]. Its type specimen is USNM 71428, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is North Birmingham, which is in a Trempealeauan carbonate dolomite/chert in the Copper Ridge Formation of Alabama.
It was recombined as Rhachopea washburnensis by Ulrich et al. (1931).
