Taxonomy
Bellerophon (Sinuites) strangulatus was named by Perner (1903) [?Bellerophon (Sinuites) strangulatus]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Konigshof, which is in a Kralodvorian marine horizon in the Králuv Dvur Formation of the Czech Republic. It is the type species of Strangulites.
It was recombined as Strangulites strangulatus by Horný (1962), Horný (1963) and Wagner (2023).
