Straparollina circe was named by Walcott (1905). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Matherella circe by Walcott (1912), Walcott (1913) and Kobayashi (1933); it was recombined as Kobayashiella circe by Endo (1937) and Wagner (2023).
