Tremanotus incipiens was named by Perner (1903) [Barrande in Perner 1903;
NOTE: This might be originally Bellerophon insignis Barrande in Koken 1889 p. 385. (This is in Perner's 1903 synonymy list.)]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Encrinurus beaumonti bed, Amerika, which is in a Gorstian carbonate limestone in the Kopanina Formation of the Czech Republic.
It was recombined as Boiotremus incipiens by Horný (1963) and Wagner (2023).
