Xiadongoconus was named by Yü (1979) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-u Sepkoski's reference number: 951,1006]. It is not extant. Its type is Xiadongoconus luminosus.
It was assigned to Mollusca by Yü (1979) and Sepkoski (2002); and to Maikhanellidae by Ponder et al. (2007) and Parkhaev and Demidenko (2010).

Apex straight or slightly inclined anteriorly, rounded and blunt, placed in anterior third of shell length. Posterior field convex, anterior straight or slightly concave. Lateral fields convex. Aperture almost circular, with wide and moderately deep sinus in anterior part. Shallow posterior sinus sometimes present. Anterior mid-dorsal buttress, running from shell apex towards anterior sinus, prominent on shell surface. Weak posterior mid-dorsal buttress sometimes present. External shell ornamentation represented by comarginally aligned rhomboid granules. Surface of anterior mid-dorsal buttress bears distinct growth lines. Apical part of shell smooth." |
